Goal 2. A Healthy and Safe City
Description

Several departments including the Fire, Police, Social Services, and Human Services have community risk reduction, education, and prevention programs for the benefit of the community. The attachment and measures listed below provide some details around current programs. 

Status

The Department of Human Services continues to provide support for children in foster care through the Community Attention Foster Families program, emphasizing the importance of kinship care where appropriate. In addition, the department has expanded the number of evidence-based programs available to youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Prevention and positive youth development programs are offered to families including Family Check-Up, Everyday Parenting, CAYIP and mentoring support.
