Analysis | |
CY2014 Total Inquiries = 43
While all intakes were logged as complaints, the protected activity data was separated by geographic jurisdiction, thereby providing criteria to reclassify some of the logged Complaints as Inquiries.
CY2015 through CY2016
During this period protected activity data was not separated between inquiries and complaints.
CY2017 Total Inquires = 27
This was the first year that protected activity data was separated between inquiries and complaints.
CY2018 Total Inquiries = 90
There was a notable uptick in the number of Housing Inquiries received. This is due in large part to the Office of Human Rights serving as a referral agency to the Charlottesville Supplemental Rental Assistance Program.
CY2019 Total Inquiries = 154
Housing inquiries continued to rise. The vast majority of these inquiries involved individuals seeking assistance with finding and paying for affordable housing. The continued rise in housing inquiries that did not involve an allegation of discrimination was the impetus for collaboration with other public and non-profit entities to improve affordable housing navigation.
CY2020 Total Inquiries = 63
Total inquires dropped in all protected activities. It can be assumed that the decrease was in some manner related to the office being closed to walk-ins and the general challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic.
