Medical Records Unit Supervisor participated on an interview panel for the Program Support Division.  Employment Specialist created seven civilian job requisitions which yielded a total of 460 candidates. 

Section Manager consulted with the City Talent Acquisition representative regarding the candidate selection criteria for an ESS supervisory position.  Section Manager and Assistant Director met with stakeholders to review the sworn Patrol sign-up to clean up rosters in preparation for new Recruit/LEO classes.  Another meeting was held with Academy staff to ensure LEO and Recruit offer letters were revised and budget related items were accounted for.  Employment Specialist submitted four internal/external job postings and conferenced with hiring managers regarding their pending vacancies.

Section Manager worked with a vendor (Talent Insights) who offers personality screening services for applicants to test the process for screening the Section's Police Employment Specialist finalists.  The Section Manager and peer position Employment Specialist conducted interviews and tested six Employment Specialist candidates.  The Finalist met with the ASC Assistant Director and the Finance/Personnel Assistant Chief.  The Section Manager (along with executive staff) met with a retired officer who is seeking to be rehired.  The Employment Specialist submitted eight civilian job postings; conferenced with hiring managers regarding vacancies; and routinely conferenced with City HR Talent Acquisition  as part of the recruitment process.  The Employment Specialist assisted the Civil Service Commission with registering Police Trainee candidates for testing.

  • Section Manager and Employment Specialist attended the New M&C Process training. Section Manager, Employment Specialist & MR Supervisor participated in the following Webinar trainings: How to Win Unemployment Claims,  and FMLA, ADA, & Workers' Comp. Section Manager also participated in these additional webinars: Strategies to Address Current Trends in LE Recruiting, and Digital Transformation - What it Means for HR; and participated in the FY2020 Budget Development Process.  All participated in the Monthly ELRD/HRC Conference Call.  Medical Records Supervisor attended the Red Cross Infant & Adult First Aid/AED certification class. 

    Section Manager & MRC Supervisor attended/participated in the City's Management Team Forum.  Section Manager participated in a Webinar: Making diversity part of our DNA.  The Section Management Team participated in the monthly HRC/ELRD conference call.  Employment Specialist attended the City's two-day course on Crucial Conversations; and a new administrative staff completed the NIMS training series. MRC Supervisor attended the Drug and Alcohol training for supervisors.

    The Section Manager received training via webcast: Finding Fulfillment-Key Lessons from the most fulfilled HR professionals. The MRC Supervisor attended The Indispensable Assistant City Training.  The Employment Specialist completed the City's training course: Holding Successful Meetings.

  • Section Manager participated in four sworn Unemployment Hearings in collaboration with City Legal and in facilitation with City ELRD; Consulted with Legal on an ADA issue; and Met with a City representative regarding the CJIS process for contracted employees.  Section Manager and Employment Specialist met with a City HR Class and Comp representative and PD Managers regarding a proposal for a General Employee Internship Program.  The Medical Records Supervisor participated in the Legal Meeting regarding pending Benefit Review Conferences & Contested Case Hearings.  

    Employment Specialist consulted with City Records Management regarding Laserfiche issues; two civilian unemployment hearings and 10 Open Records Requests in collaboration with City HR Employee/Labor Relations and City HR Records. MRC Supervisor attending a Legal meeting regarding a pending Benefit Review Conference and Contested Case Hearings for which she provided updated case information regarding injured employees; MRC Supervisor participated as a panel member to evaluate the City's Dental and Vision benefit RFP.

    The Section Manager participated in a focus group regarding employee recognition organized by the Budget & Performance Office.  The MRC Supervisor participated in the Legal Meeting regarding pending Benefit Review Conferences (BRC) and Contested Case Hearings (CCH) and provided updated information regarding injured employees.  The Employment Specialist participated in the City's planning meeting for the Juneteenth event held for employees and the community.

  • Section Manager screened four sworn position interview questions and provided consultation on edits.  The Employment Specialist facilitated a Civilian Unemployment Hearing w/Hiring Manager.

    Section Manager met with executive stakeholders regarding the civilian polygraph process and administrative investigations; and participated in a MCCA HR Subcommittee prep meeting conference call regarding police suicide.

    The Section Manager served on the MCCA HR Committee at a conference in Miami Beach to address police suicide.  The on-going objective is to develop national standards and best practices to combat the stigma of mental illness among all first responders.  The MRC Supervisor consulted with supervisors, Legal, and HR regarding the medical accommodation needs of a Communications Division employee.  The Employment Specialist provided consultation in participation with other department and City groups: PD Budget Committee; IA for Open Records Requests; and employees and hiring supervisors/managers regarding personnel matters, reclassifications, retirement, PRRs, and Acting Pay.
