Hosting a Advanced Tactics school for SRT, Gang and CTU in the next few months.  

Basic SWAT school for SRT was cancelled at the request of the Patrol Deputy Chiefs.  We will host the class once Patrol sends a revised schedule.  CTU and Gang will attend a Advanced tactics class once Swat sends an updated schedule.

SRT vehicles are currently being replaced with Dodge Chargers and Chevrolet Tahoes.  SWATs new trucks are in and currently being outfitted.  Once completed SWATs original vehicles will be transferred over to SRT in an attempt to backfield any gaps. 

SWAT units are halfway through the upfit process.  We anticipate complettion of all of them within the next 6 weeks.  

SRT 2018 vehicles are complete and have been issued.  Currently taking in Swat turn in vehicles and will re issue to SRT.  There are 6 Tahoes and 6 PPV trucks scheduled to be assigned to SRT this budget year.  We have not received either order as of this time.

Narcotics has had two large scale operations that were successful and resulted in large amounts of narcotics, guns and currency within the last month.  They continue to work with our federal partners in this area.

Registered 120 youth in the winter basketball league and 21 cheerleaders from 6 different schools. Added 15 more volunteer coaches, for a total of 19 coaches. Coaches assist with homework before each practice. Held a community event with a Vietnam lodge where mentors, mentees, and community volunteers painted. 

Registered 10 new players for basketball; registered 3 new coaches; community service volunteer events at Western Hills ES supporting their Valentine's Day dance; basketball games held at Morningside MS and Diamond Hills HS; recruited 20 mentees and 3 mentors; 2 boxers won Golden Gloves titles.

Completed winter basketball playoffs at Morningside Middle School where several officers attended the championship games and participated in placing medals on the players. Currently registering new group of mentors and mentees. Registering now for flag/flex football and cheerleading (51 applications completed). Two PAL boxers were in first place in competition.

Gang has been redirected the past few months and their numbers in gang related offenses have dropped. We have had several shootings in the last few weeks directed toward gang activity.  Gang has now been refocused on this problem and are on track to address these issues.  

Gang has been redirected to their primary purpose of gang suppression/identification and have increased stats significantly from earlier months. 

 Gang Section conducted two large scale details outside of their normal daily operations, which were directed towards disrupting and dismantling criminal street gangs.  The first was a five week long detail in the East Division PSN area which was in response to multiple shootings involving BCG and FOE members.  The second was a three day detail targeting members of the Outcast OMG in Northwest Division.  Both details were extremely successful in disrupting these gangs’ daily activities and in gathering intelligence for future operations.
