| The Captain, supervisors and I discuss the new beat integrity model weekly at roll calls at minimum weekly. We are educating the patrol officers on how important their initial contact with citizens is and to continue community engagement and be receptive to their input about crime. In addition, NPOs have been instructed to increase the communication by NPOs and each shift beat officer. Lists for gang members on each beat have disseminated as well; Parolees are also checked, NPOs have been tasked with making contact with gang members on their beats at least once a week. The Captain also takes the opportunity to train officers in officer safety tactics and answers questions at roll calls. |
