The current system of linear feet tracking is compiled from capital project reports (green sheets), project manager reports (via the online application tool, Buzzsaw) and field site visits. Data is compiled in a geodatabase using various measurement units, coordinates, and dates (the inventory date rather than the construction date is used due to variances of capital project time frames). Sidewalk data is stored in a Geodatabase, which is a collection of geographic datasets of various types held in a common file system folder, a Microsoft Access database, or a multi-user relational DBMS (such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Informix, or IBM DB2). The data is tracked using the Quality Statistical Analysis Method via the Geodatabase system. Step 1: Query a calendar year using values in the CONST_DATE (Constructed Date) Field. (Example: CONST_DATE between '2016-01-01 00:00:00' AND '2016-12-31 00:00:00'). The resulting subset of will pull hundreds of records. Step 2: Select the length field in the "Table" tab and perform statistical analysis on the subset of records. Step 3: Select the sum value (Note: in the example used above, 79,149 linear feet of of sidewalk was constructed in 2016).
