Measure Definition & Importance |
There are approximately 28,500 drainage inlets throughout the City of Fort Worth. The Inlet Maintenance Team maintains approximately 31% (or 9,000) of the drainage inlets, and is scheduled to cycle through the entire system every 3.5 years. Drainage inlets are inspected and cleaned by seven 2 person crews using a special piece of equipment. Scheduled maintenance is essential in keeping the underground drainage system operating at maximum capacity. Field crews have the ability to assess the location of the City's drainage easements in a GIS database on mobile field tablets. With support from the Stormwater Field Engineering Team, a scope of work is developed to identify the types of maintenance needed. Projects are then prioritized and placed on the scheduled maintenance list.
