Measure Definition & Importance |
At the beginning of FY 2016, the City Street Network comprised of 7,500 lane miles in the City of Fort Worth. The City Street Network runs on a 3 year maintenance cycle. During that time, the Pavement Management Team conducts street condition surveys by applying the pavement rating system. The pavement condition is based on a 10 point (or 100%) scale, with 1 (10%) being a "very poor" rating and 10 (100%) being an "excellent" rating. The process for evaluating the condition of City streets involves City staff going on site, recording their observations of street pavement, quantifying the asphalt and concrete pavement condition, and assessing the severity and extent of different distress conditions on a scale from zero (0) to ten (100%). The rating system is used to facilitate the appropriate programming of rehabilitation and reconstruction techniques and optimization of funding.
