Measure Definition & Importance |
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) reduces heating and cooling costs for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. WAP uses building science and specialized instruments such as the blower door and duct blaster to achieve an accurate energy audit of each house, this will determine what measures can be installed. Out of every house weatherized in a fiscal year 50% of the houses will achieve 35% or more savings on there utility bills. Target is based on Department of Energy's set 35% savings goal.
