Measure Definition & Importance |
The Roundup is the communication office's internal newsletter for city employees, which keeps employees up-to-date on news, events and other information going on within the organization. The electronic version of The Roundup is distributed every Wednesday by email. This data would measure how often employees interact with the email version of The Roundup through opening the email and clicking on various stories. MailChimp, the system through which we deliver The Roundup, rates the people on its email lists from 1 to 5, in terms of how frequently they interact with emails sent to them. Employees/list members who are rated 4 or 5 interact with their email through opens and clicks at a moderate and frequent level, respectively. Employees/list members rated 1-3 interact with their email in much lower capacities.

Data Source Details & Calculation Information |
MailChimp allows us to pull an Excel list of all employees signed up to receive The Roundup, and provides us with the appropriate rating. To pull this list, one must log in to MailChimp.com, go to the "Lists" tab, and locate the "Roundup" list. They can then export the list, which will be emailed to the user who pulled it. The list will then download into a zip file, in CSV format. Once the user opens the file, the fifth column over should be "Member Rating", which lists the star rating for each member, from 1-5.
