Measure Definition & Importance |
A media request, can be a request for an interview, statement, fact check or media access to a particular person or event to complete a news story the reporter may be working on. Sometimes they are looking to get information to see if there would be a story they can produce, sometimes the information they seek is a small component of a story already close to being complete.
A member of the media can put together a story with or without information we provide. It is beneficial for the city to contribute information to help the possibility of the story being balanced and accurate. A response from the city also helps with both credibility and building trust with the media and the residents who see their news stories. This measurement allows us to see how efficient we are at responding to all requests that come in.

Data Source Details & Calculation Information |
All media inquiries arriving in the CPE department (or made known to the department) are tracked in the Wufoo database. If I am looking at Media Inquiries, I pull the Bulk Actions which is a spreadsheet of everything in the database. Once I export the Spreadsheet I can organize the data. I begin by deleting all entries other those in the timeframe you need and then organize the remaining data by Status. Anyone with access to our Media Inquiries within Wufoo can pull this report, but I would serve as primary.
