Measure Definition & Importance |
When the City's vehicles and equipment meet the end of their useful life, department's Fleet Coordinators drop off the vehicles at one of the Fleet Division's service centers for auction. The Fleet Division is responsible for coordinating the disposal of all vehicles and equipment through a thirs party vendor (Lone Star Auctioneers). The sale of proceeds for each unit are then recorded as revenue in the same fund where the purchase of such unit was recorded. Auction proceeds allow the City to recover some of the initiall investment.
