Measure Definition & Importance

The City of Fort Worth fuels all city vehicles through either a Fuel Card service or at 63 bulk fuel sites located throughout the city. This measure tracks the inventory of fuel at the bulk fuel sites. The Senior Buyer and two fuel staff members will acquire and manage fuel daily to service the demands of the city fleet at the best value cost. This measure provides for internal controls to the city's fuel assets. This fuel is used in all 3,756 vehicles in the city fleet. This measure is Green when the Monthly End Booked Inventory value is between 0 and the leak check variance, and is red when the Monthly End Booked Inventory Value is greater than the Leak Check Variance.

For FY2016 the target is to never exceed a variance of +/-1% or +/- 130 gallons in end booked inventory compared to the leak check variance. The target is based on regulatory requirements from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Analysis

NOTES: D&H Fueling Solutions and Basco Calibration Company had to replace the bulk meter calibrator in order to calibrate our North Serv. Cntr. bulk meter correctly.  Once the calibrator was installed, and ran 500.75 gallons X 4 different times equaling = 2,003 gallons that was put back into the bulk tank causing the overage  for the month of September for North Service Center.  System calibrated and operating correctly.
