Measure Definition & Importance |
Fleet availability shows the percent of city vehicles available for use by city departments to complete their missions. This measure is considered the most important key performance indicator in any fleet operation.
The target is to have 93% of fleet availability throughout the year. The target is based on the industry standard from the Fleet Competitiveness Study by Mercury Associates (Fleet Competitiveness Study (p. 19) by Mercury Associates 2009).

Data Source Details & Calculation Information |
The data is stored in the Faster Fleet Management System. A daily automated report provides the daily fleet status report. Fleet Availability = [1 - Number of vehicles down ("Total Down") / Number of vehicles in fleet ("Fleet Count")] * 100
