Measure Definition & Importance |
This measure identifies how many planned internal audits were actually completed during the fiscal year. Since the Annual Audit Plan consists of audits in areas considered higher risk to the City, the completion of audits in the Annual Audit Plan is indicative of Internal Audit's efforts to help mitigate risks to the City of Fort Worth, as well as identify opportunities to improve City operations. Each year, annual risk assessments are conducted to identify audits to include in the Annual Audit Plan. The proposed Annual Audit Plan is presented to the Audit Committee for approval. Upon Audit Committee and Mayor and City Council approval, audits are assigned to Internal Audit staff. Audits are then completed, and written audit reports are prepared to summarize audit results. Written audit reports are then presented to the Mayor, Council and City management.
