The Rolling Hills compound is the depositry for woody materials produced by Transportation/Public Work Department (storm water and streets), Tarrant Regional Water District, Water Department and Park Forestry Division. These materials come from construction projects that require tree/brush removal and from storm events - either hazards left by storms or from high flows in drainage corridors. Trades heavy equipment staff receives all woody waste, processes through a "tub grinder", screens and stockpiles for mulching; all at the Rolling Hills compound. We are averaging 10,000 Cubic Yards processed annually and 6,000 cubic yards of 'giveaway'. As these materials started as natural resources, we are turning them into renewable resources through grinding, screening, mulching and giving back to the City at three locations: Sylvania Park, Arrow S. Park and the Rolling Hills compound (Park). Dependng on City infrastructure construction projects and storm frequency, we have averaged 10,000 CY of woody materials received annually. We give mulch to FWISD, Botanic Garden and other organizations throughout the City, while maintaing 20CY at each of our three giveaway site.
