Measure Definition & Importance |
The goal of Visit Fort Worth (formerly Fort Worth Convention & Visitor's Bureau) is to book a minimum of 282,500 future hotel room nights in Fort Worth hotels/motels annually. The Fort Worth Convention Center (FWCC) and Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC) are economic generators which bring out of town guests into the city. These guests stay at local hotels, eat in local restaurants and spend their money in local shops. Each year the department hosts a variety of conventions, Horse Shows and other events attended by a diverse population from around the world, nation, and state, as well as people in the D/FW area. FWCC and WRMC are marketed by Visit Fort Worth to produce room nights in local hotels/motels. Achieving this goal is crucial to the department because approximately 60% of the budget is derived from Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT). Tracking this measure enables the department to budget effectively and operate efficiently. The 282,500 rooms nights is the fiscal year end goal.
