Measure Definition & Importance |
Server patching is critical to maintain a secure server infrastructure environment. Since our server infrastructure houses all the data & applications used to conduct day-to-day business within the City of Fort Worth, it is vital that they are secure so they can maintain operational. Our goal is to maintain all server patching at a level of 90%.

To measure server patching we must determine all available monthly patching and then further determine whether every applicable server has received the monthly patches. The number of servers receiving monthly patching should not fall below 90% over the course of 3 months.
Calculation will be made by taking the total number of servers that were successfully patched, within 30 days of the patch(es) being released, and dividing that number by the total number of servers.
