Cyber criminals worldwide have learned that the most efficient
means of gaining unauthorized access to an enterprise's information assets is
through the people that use those assets. The repetitive training of users to
recognize potential threats and take appropriate action through their everyday
behavior can have the largest return of any preventative measure. Therefore,
the City provides an online course intended to provide staff with the knowledge
required to protect the City’s information systems. Employees are
required to complete the training annually. A high
completion rate of the City's security training can be indicative of the
capabilities of employees to protect the City's information assets. Average of the last 3 years.

Completion of training will be tracked through the reporting mechanisms of the City's on-line security course and by sign-in sheets collected during classroom sessions. This data will be collected and administered by the IT Solutions Cybersecurity Team.
New system has an automated report to track this.
