The City of Fort Worth owns Lake Worth, and provides security detail in the form of boat patrol. Security activities include water safety checks of watercraft, lake patrol of motorized and non-motorized water craft, etc... Water safety checks ensure the boat operator has the necessary safety equipment required from Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the US Coast Guard, Deputy Marshals ensuring that each vessel is equiped with the necessary safety equipment promotes a safe enviornment and mitigates safety related concerns. Peak months are from April 1 to September 30, and non-peak times are from October 1 to March 30. During peak times, the goal is to have on-water patrol for at least 6 out of 8 hours for peak months, and for 2.5 hours out of 8 for non-peak months.
