Measure Definition & Importance |
Measure of the % solids of digested sludge being pumped after chemical addition, from the DS - 4 Well, to the City of Fort Worth Biosolids Dewatering Facility. The ability of the private contractor to maintain an average of 18% dewatered cake for land application is directly dependent upon the the Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility maintaining a digested dewaterable sludge average solids concentration of 3% leaving the facility. The value in maintaining a dewaterable disgested sludge will result in the private contractor being able to succeed in dewatering the biosolids to an average concentration of 18%. By maintaining this concentration biosolids the contractor is able to land apply rather than disposed of at the municipal solid waste landfill. Disposal at the municipal solid waste landfills increase cost of the program.

Data Source Details & Calculation Information |
Data is collected by the Environmental, Health and Safety Group. The data they received is provided by the Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility Operations Group. Daily samples are collected at the DS -4 Well and analyzed for % solids.
Monthly Average % Dewatered Sludge at DS - 4 = Daily% solids Digested Sludge DS-4 sludge/ total number of samples collected per month.
