| | Biosolids Beneficial UseWTR-Water |
Analysis | |
All biosolids hauled offsite were land applied.
Measure Definition & Importance |
Measure of the amount (dry tons) of biosolids beneficially reused compared to the total amount (dry tons) of biosolids hauled offsite. The City of Fort Worth Water Department is responsible for providing wastewater service to over 1.2 million people in Fort Worth and surrounding communities. The Village Creek Water Reclamation Facility treats and discharges an average of 100 million gallons per day of high quality effluent water. Part of the process involves separating, treating, stabalizing and reusing biosolids that are land applied as a beneficial soil amendment. The importance of this program is to ensure the return of valuable nutrients and organic material back to the soil where it originated, keeping it out of the landfills.

Data Source Details & Calculation Information |
Data is collected by the Environmental, Health and Safety Group. The data is provided by a third party contractor (Synagro) on a monthly basis.
Data consists of total dry tonnage of biosolids land applied as well as the total dry tonnage hauled offsite to any location (land application & landfills). The goal is to land apply 100% of all biosolids produced during any given month with no landfilling.
% Beneficially Reused Biosolids = [Total Dry Tons Beneficially Reused] / [Total Dry Tons Hauled Offsite (Including Landfilling)]*100
