Interaction with ratepayers and customers is important to their understanding of the department's role in protecting public health and the environment. Social media is becoming the method for many to stayed connected. The Water Department began using Twitter as communications tool in February 2015. This goal is to measure how well the department is increasing it's outreach via Twitter. In order to account for extreme variances in impressions due to event-related traffic, this measure is tracked as a rolling 6-month average.
