This measure gauges the effectiveness of the billing practices for water and/or wastewater services provided by the utility. The goal is to ensure consistency in the timeliness and accuracy of the billing to promote customer confidence and satisfaction with the account billing information they receive. The measure reflects the number of error-driven billing adjustments per 10,000 bills generated during the fiscal year. Adjustments are the result of not only billing anomalies or account setup issues, but also associated with field operational situations related to meter over reads, meter malfunctions, and crossed meters.
