This KPI is reported Annually and it will be available in March 2022.
Jan - March 2021 ILI = 6.80 based on the data provided by various section within the Water Department
Notes: Based on the discussion with Water IT Manager (Rick). I am planning to have an education session with Billing/Water IT to give them an overview about water loss, Why it is important and data that I need from Datalake/datawarehouse to make sure we are all on the same page.
Measure Definition & Importance |
Infrastructure Leakage Index (ILI) is a performance indicator quantifying how well a distribution system is maintained, repaired and rehabilitated, for the control of real (leakage) losses at the current operating pressure. Reducing ILI will indicate that the utility managed its leakage down toward unavoidable annual real loss. The target is based on the industry standard as set by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

CY2017 Analysis: ILI = 4.33 last year TWDB requested us to revise our water loss audit report by calculating the ILI number based on the volume of treated water entering the distribution system. This is the water going into the distribution system after the treatment process.. Hence there is a huge difference in the calculated ILI number.
CY2018 Analysis: The data will be entered in February 2019.
