Measure Definition & Importance |
Off-cycle payroll corrections are submitted outside of normal pay periods that require special payroll processing. These may include corrections that are made for standard 80 hours that weren't paid out such as unreported absences, hours worked, etc.; if there was a correction without pay such as major medical, worker's comp, etc.; with no minimum dollar but we ask for the payment to be with an off-cycle payment. Off-cycle checks will be done only to ensure an employee receives regular standard 80 hours for the pay period. Overtime payments are included if over $175. Incentive pays are normally paid on-cycle.
This measurement is important for employee satisfaction because once an error is communicated, staff should ensure that timely correction for hours worked or the error is paid timely. This may also impact employee retention if paychecks are short or overpaid.
