CODE-EMD performs the monitoring of local storm water quality required by the TCEQ and USEPA to assure compliance with the Clean Water Act and conditions of the City of Fort Worth's Texas Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit allowing the City to discharge storm water runoff to the Waters of the US. The conditions of this permit require sampling and analysis of storm water and aquatic organisims at prescribed times during the year and during different weather and flow conditions. Data are collected throughout the year and reported to the TCEQ annualy.

Data are collected and maintained within standardized systems developed by CODE-EMD which include FieldID databases for dry weather field screenings and field collection forms and spreadsheets for wet weather field screening, bioassessment, regional monitoring, and bacteria montoring activities. Water Quality Team staff maintain and access the systems and spreadsheets where this information resides after entry from field data collection forms.
