Measure Definition & Importance |
Since 2012, there has been an identifiable increase in the incidence of West Nile Virus and recently, additional mosquito diseases such as Chikungunya Virus and Zika Virus. The mode of transmission for these illnesses are mosquitoes. When Consumer Health is notified of the presence of West NIle Virus the protocol is to immediately begin targeted education to the residents of the affected area. Preventing further spread of the disease is crucial. Educating the citizens that may be exposed about their risks and the steps they need to take to reduce this risk of illness time sensitive. Consumer Health has set a standard of responding on the same day to notifications to preveint illnesses. To measure this Consumer Health documents and records the notification date and the date of response to ensure educating the citizens remains a priority. Each notification of the presence of West Nile Virus in a patient is recorded in SWEEPs. Each responder is then held accountable for documenting their work efforts regarding this notification in SWEEPs as a Daily Activity Report. 2014 100%, 2015 100%
