Measure Definition & Importance |
Since 2012, the City of Fort Worth and the surrounding region has experienced and increased threat of mosquito diseases. The City of Fort Worth has directed the Consumer Health division to work towards preventing the transmittal of mosquito diseases through increased surveillance, larvaciding of mosquito breeding sites and education to the citizens and visitors to Fort Worth. The most effective preventive is reducing breeding sites for mosquitos. Citizens are encouraged to monitor their residential areas. When they find concerns they cannot address they request assistance from the Consumer Health Division. These areas of concern must be addressed quickly to prevent further mosquito breeding. By tracking our response to citizen complaints we can ensure we are effectively addressing their needs and working to reduce the potential of illness due to mosquitoes.

Data Source Details & Calculation Information |
The data source for this measure is SWEEPS software. In SWEEPS, click on the <IR/CE> tab, then click <Reports>, then <Complaint Status Report>. Fill in <Program> with the code "40V", and ensure <Sort Order> is marked with "Program". In the <Status Selection> section ensure Active, Closed, and Pending are "checked". Enter the dates for <Start IR Date> and <End IR Date> that you want to run the report for. Then click "OK". All CH Supervisors have access to this data. The assigned West Nile Virus Supervisor tracks this report.
Each complaint on the report has a date it was entered in the upper left corner. Below that is a "Closed" date. The dates should be no more than one day apart. Add up the complaints that were completed within one day and then review the endo of the report which provides a total of complaints on the report. Divide the # of complaints completed within 24 hours by the total # of complaints received and multiply by 100.
Actual = (# responded to on time / Total # complaints)*100
