Measure Definition & Importance |
The Consumer Health workload is a combination of scheduled monthly work and seasonal work. Each month a minimum number of inspections must be completed to ensure each business is inspected based on their risk of causing disease/illness. During the spring/summer additional work efforts are required, for example, mosquito disease prevention temporary event inspections. Additionally, the bulk of the public swimming pools and spas open during the summer months and must be inspected. Due to finite resources, priorities are shifted and a backlog of the monthly inspections due occurs annually. It is important to track this number to ensure we are being efficient with our resources. According to our calculations we should be able to address this ebb and flow in the work load with the staff that is assigned to Consumer Health.
