According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) each year, one (1) in six (6) Americans will get sick from contaminated foods or beverages; 3,000 will die. This measure serves as a key performance indicator for the Consumer Health Division because it allows the division to allocate its resources to the highest priority inspections.  These highest risk businesses either serve highly susceptible populations or have a history of non-compliance with food safety regulations.  Routinely conducting inspections and enforcement actions as needed, prevents the spread of illness/disease to the populations served by these businesses. Current averages are FY 13 100%; FY 14 100%; and, FY 15 100%.

Data source resides in the Consumer Health Sweeps Software. In Sweeps click on the <Field>, click on <Inspection Due Report>, click on the gray box to the right of <Inspection Freq>, enter the following codes in the white boxes; HR4, MR3, CS5, CS6, then click <close>. Ensure the <Status> box has an "A". Ensure the <Sort Order> has "Due Date" in the gray box. In the <Ending Date> put the end of the month for which you are pulling the report.  Ensure the following boxes are checked next to and under <Include> Regular Inspections and Call-Backs. Note: additional boxes may be checked but are not relevant to this report.  This report is run at the beginning of every month and monitored throughout the month to ensure completion. A Consumer Health Supervisor runs and monitors this report monthly.
