Systematic and regular disposition of records complies with statutory requirements (Local Government Code, Fort Worth City Code, and the Public Information Act) and contributes to business health of the organization by controlling storage, liability and production costs associated with accumulation of expired records. Monitoring this activity is part of a responsible and functional records management program and gives the City a level of accountability regarding activity, and allows for benchmarking and internal planning.
