Measure Definition & Importance |
Monitoring average median business days required to process public information requests provides useful data to evaluate in an effort to shorten the time, thereby increasing responsiveness, efficiency, and transparency. Data associated with request duration requires a cycle of classification and withdrawal of ten business days, which is greater than the measure detail report cycle of ten calendar days.
In order to account for the rolling timeline of requests, this information is reported 1 month in arrears.

Data Source Details & Calculation Information |
This data is derived from the City's online public information web portal by running the SLA report which extracts and exports data into an Excel spreadsheet for further breakdown, sorting and formatting into more useable data. Average median day is calculated by creating an ascending list of the duration of requests in hours, locating the midpoint on that list, and dividing the value at that position on the list by 9, to determine the relative number of business days.
