Measure Definition & Importance |
Tracking the number of public information requests received by the City provides useful data to better accommodate public need for information and for associated resource planning among departments, resulting in a more responsive and transparent organization. It also allows for analysis to provide for more direct on-line access to records and information, thereby driving down the number of formal requests. There is no target as this information is monitored for general purpose knowledge. Data associated with request volume requires a cycle of classification and withdrawal of ten business days, which is greater than the measure detail report cycle of ten calendar days. This measure is reported 1 month in arrears.

Data Source Details & Calculation Information |
This data is derived from the reporting features of the City's online public information web portal, which tracks the volume of both single-department and mult-department requests. Data may then be extracted/exported into spreadsheets for further analysis. The two reports are combined into one Excel spreadsheet, then sorted and counted/totaled by department using the sum function in Excel to calculate totals. The information is then transferred to the RIM PIA pie chart, which is also in Excel.
Actual = Fiscal Year to Date sum of '# processed'
