This employee survey question allows us to determine how well our employees percieve their department's ability to define and measure their success. Our department's efforts to help the organization identify goals and measure their progress towards those goals through the Performance Scorecard program should have a measurable impact on this KPI. By establishing data owners in each department, and having departments engage in a performance measurement review, we hope to encourage city employees to see a more measurable impact on their departments key processes, and in turn see how they impact the organization as a whole. This information helps us to determine whether or not our efforts have helped employees better connect what they are doing on a day to day basis with the overall goals, mission, and vision of their department.

The employee survey is conducted approximately every 18 months.

Data from the employee survey is manually transferred by Performance Office staff to a storage spreadsheet on the ClearPoint shared drive, here:

• Data is entered into the "ALL (enter data here)" tab
• Data for each section, 1-11 (as defined in Column A), is pulled into 11 separate tabs (1 for each numbered section)
• Each of these tabs is linked to ClearPoint via the data loader utility
