The Comprehensive Plan is the City of Fort Worth’s official guide for making decisions about growth and development. The Plan is a summary of the goals, objectives, policies, strategies, programs, and projects that will enable the city to achieve its mission of focusing on the future, working together to build strong neighborhoods, develop a sound economy, and provide a safe communities. Tracking investments in historically designated areas helps to measure the effectiveness of implementing Comprehensive Plan historic preservation and economic development policies. Historic preservation increases property values, attracts visitors, and reduces energy and land consumption by promoting central city redevelopment and building reuse. The City's historic preservation program is administered by the Historic Preservation Officer in accordance with local, state, and federal ordinances and standards.
