Description
To position the water utility for regulatory compliance when the implementation of the proposed changes to the existing Lead and Copper Rule (LCR) are final. Incorporating the changes in the proposed rule will strengthen procedures and requirements required to maintain health protections through lead tap sampling; corrosion control treatment; lead service line replacement; consumer awareness; and public eduction. NOTE: End date currently unknown - Three years after final rule is published (final date not published).
Measurable Outcomes
Determine the location of all lead service lines located throughout service area of city.    Track the locations exceeding lead action level through testing. Track customer engagement for lead service replacement and testing.  Document all schools built prior to January 1, 2014 and licensed childcare facilities throughout service area.

CC-Meter Services Identify pipe material at city-owned side and customer-owned side of meter throughout service area in city.  FO-Water Distribution Identify and/or remove lead service found on city-owned side of meter via routine maintenance activities (leaks, mainbreaks, renewals, etc...). CD-Pipeline Remove identified lead service lines via capital improvement projects. SO-Regulatory & Laboratory Provide testing service for any customer requesting lead test due to lead service line replacement.
